Lions donate to hurricane relief

Generous support from community allows club to send $1,000 to help residents in the Bahamas.

Park Rapids Lions treasurer Frank Bender, center, presented a $1,000 donation for Bahamas relief to Lions Clubs International Foundation coordinators Larry and Zelda Novak.

Support of Lions fundraisers in the community allowed the Park Rapids Lions Club to donate $1,000 to the Lions Clubs International Foundation which will be used for hurricane relief in the Bahamas. One percent of this money will go directly to disaster relief. The Lions club also helps support the Kinship program, FATHER Project, community band, fireworks and many other community projects.
