Free yoga practice offered at Heartland
Elaine Hanson, a certified yoga instructor, will lead hour-long yoga classes at Heartland Park.
She’s offering the class for free on Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 9:30 a.m.
Hanson said she will teach more than the basics, but the moves will be easy and attainable. She said the relaxation techniques incorporated in yoga can lessen chronic pain and reduce stress. Other physical benefits include increased flexibility, increased muscle strength and improved balance.
Social distancing will be followed and face masks should be worn. Those interested in yoga may simply bring a mat or blanket, wear something comfortable and head to Heartland Park. Hanson has 15 yoga mats available for those who don’t have one. For more information, call her at 218-255-1557.
