Joint Thanksgiving Eve Service

Five area churches will host an online worship service Thanksgiving Eve, Nov. 25. The live stream begins at 6:45 p.m. with worship to follow at 7 p.m.

Participating churches and ministers are: Lauren Hauger, Hubbard United Methodist Church; Scot Jakel, Riverside United Methodist Church; Steve Norby and Justin Fenger, Calvary Lutheran Church; and Mary Marotte, First Lutheran Church in Akeley and Bethany Lutheran Church in Nevis. The pianist will be Terry Greenawalt from HUMC.

There will be a Thanksgiving Day Mass at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 26 at Our Lady of the Pines Church, Nevis. Regular Masses are held at Our Lady of the Pines at noon Tuesdays; 9 a.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; 5 p.m. Saturdays and at 10:30 a.m. Sundays. Sunday Mass at St. Theodore’s Church, Laporte is at 8:30 a.m. Eucharistic adoration will be held at Our Lady of the Pines from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Fridays. St. John’s Lutheran (Akeley)

St. John’s is holding services at 9 a.m. Sundays. Thanksgiving Eve service is 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25. Daily devotions by Pastor Harvey Kietzman continue on Facebook, as well as a dial-a-devotion at 218-652-5555. At St. John’s, we social distance, provide masks and sanitizer.

Catholic parishes (Park Rapids and Two Inlets)

Mass is at 5 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids, and at 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Grotto, Two Inlets. Trinity Lutheran, Laporte

For the foreseeable future, Trinity Lutheran in Laporte (ELCA) will continue with online worship at 10 a.m. on our Facebook Page (Trinity Lutheran – Laporte, MN) each Sunday. All non-essential gatherings are suspended. The only ministry continuing to meet is the Laporte Area Community Food Shelf, housed at Trinity on Tuesday nights from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Kabekona Community Church
