Peace Lutheran Church welcomes new pastor

Peace Lutheran Church of Nevis announced the recent arrival of their new pastor, Timothy Balfanz.

The church invites all to celebrate Pastor Tim's installation at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7. Pastor Jon Lindekugel, Augustana District LCMC, will officiate at the service. A reception, a morning brunch, and fellowship will follow the service.

Pastor Tim was born and raised in White Bear Lake, Minn. He earned a degree in exercise science with a minor in communications from Moorhead State University. He attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul and graduated with a master of divinity, serving as intern pastor at Peace Lutheran Church in Hazen, N.D. Since 2013, Pastor Tim served as associate pastor, youth and family ministry at Faith Lutheran in Moline, Ill.

"Grace and I are very excited to begin a new journey with the people of Peace Lutheran Church and in the surrounding area. We truly believe God is calling us, and that He is going to do great things within the congregation," Pastor Tim said. "I absolutely love the area and the beauty, and all that it has to offer. My hope is to partner with the church to equip all the people of the church, from children to adults, to share the Gospel, and to do ministry together. I truly love engaging everyone of the church and I believe it's going to be a great journey that God is going to take us on".
