Conceptualized by local Batik artist Mary Therese, the exhibit is a group show celebrating diversity and promoting conversations and connections. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the space under the umbrellas while reflecting on the messages depicted in their colorful images.

“Umbrellas of Unity” will be on display through Oct. 22. The umbrellas will be sold in an online auction beginning Oct. 3.

Watermark galleries are free and open to the public from 10 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 505 Bemidji Ave. N. in Bemidji.

Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
