Menahga junior high bands and choirs performed a concert Friday, celebrating March as “Music in Our Schools Month.”
Menahga school choirs are directed by April Hodge, and bands are directed by Beth Hahn.

According to Hahn, the 6-8th graders sang and played for an audience of hundreds of Menahga Elementary students, family and community members. They performed a fun selection of music, specially chosen for the elementary-aged audience to enjoy.
The choirs sang selections from “Peter Pan” and “Mary Poppins,” with seventh and eighth graders performing skits from “Mary Poppins” between songs. Band pieces included music based on “Robin Hood,” “The Lion King,” “Avengers” and even a song depicting a thrilling game of baseball.
“The performers and audience alike had a great time celebrating Music in Our Schools,” said Hahn.
