Mae Simpson Music will be featured Thursday, July 29 at 2nd Street Stage.
The free concert runs from 6 to 8 p.m. on the second block of Main Avenue South in downtown Park Rapids. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. A beer garden and social hour opens at 5 p.m.
Singer-songwriter Mae Simpson hails from South Carolina and is known for her huge voice and stage presence. She is joined by seven musicians, each bringing a unique flavor to the group.
Formed in 2017, the band has built a broad collection of original music whose energy and soul always brings the crowd to their feet.
In 2018, they won the Battle of the Blues Bands at Famous Dave’s and opened the Lowertown Blues Festival. They’ve been nominated for City Pages’ “Best New Band” and “Best Live Concert” awards and won City Pages’ “Readers’ Choice Best New Band.”
