NEW YORK CITY - Kim Von Bank will return to North Dakota from here this week looking just a bit glammed up.

On Monday's episode of "Live! With Kelly," Von Bank, of Hunter, N.D., was given a professional makeover and later treated to a date night with her husband.

Von Bank said she wanted to enter the makeover contest because she and her husband have been extremely busy lately and haven't had much time together.

"I thought we could use the night out in New York," she says.

Before the makeover, Von Bank, a kindergarten teacher at Northern Cass Elementary School, looked "a little frumpy," said designer Lawrence Zarian, host of TV Guide Network's "The Fashion Team," who oversaw the makeover.

Von Bank received a manicure, pedicure, haircut, hair coloring and more. She wore a $109 multi-colored dress by Maggie West and $90 leather platform wedge sandals by Nine West.

"You look like a gorgeous model," host Kelly Ripa told her.

Von Bank's husband, Mitchell, was also present for the taping but hadn't seen his wife since she left last week.

"She's stunning," he said, after the results of the makeover were revealed.

For their date on Monday night, the Von Banks were scheduled for dinner at acclaimed Mediterranean restaurant Boulud Sud, followed by a performance of "Rock of Ages" on Broadway.
