Moorhead native and actress Becky Gulsvig will perform live at this year's Tony Awards, which air at 7 p.m. Sunday on CBS.
A spokesman for PMK/HBH, the company handling public relations for the Tony Awards, confirmed the performance Monday.
"It is really a dream come true ... the Super Bowl of musical theater!" Gulsvig said in an e-mail interview.
The alumna of Moorhead High School and Trollwood Performing Arts School stars as Elle Woods in the national tour of "Legally Blonde: The Musical."
Gulsvig says she will perform the second half of "So Much Better," one of the tunes from the show, with some members of the Broadway cast backing her up on the number.

"I found out (about the performance) a few weeks ago from our producer and director," Gulsvig says. "It was such a surprise, and I'm so honored to get to be a part of the evening!"
Gulsvig also served as the understudy for the role on the Broadway run of the show.
