The Headwaters Center for Lifelong Learning (HCLL) presents Mark Hewitt with “Views from Under the Sea” on Sept. 27.

The program runs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Armory Arts and Events Center in Park Rapids.

Hewitt, a Park Rapids resident and former CEO of Northwoods Bank, now lives part-time in Florida with his wife, Peg. A long-time scuba diver, Mark has become an expert in underwater sea life. He will share his adventures from the coral reefs along the Florida Keys.

HCLL programs are free, open to the public and handicap accessible.

Featured guests are the Nevis Women Club, which has received a $27,200 grant from the Minnesota DNR to create a first-of-its-kind, pollinator-friendly corridor along a state trail.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
