Borderline Philharmonic musicians are in full swing with practices throughout the week at Hoot Owl Lodge.
The week will culminate with a concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13.
The music camp began nearly 40 years ago, said Hoot Owl owner Bill Fritze. He has hosted the musicians at Hoot Owl since he took over ownership 23 years ago.
"They have a great time," he said. "Many of them have been coming for years and years."
The musicians are professional or highly skilled amateur musicians. The camp is a way for the musicians to get away to relax while at the same time getting some practice time in.

They have daily practices with different ensembles - trios, quartets, quintets - and rehearse everything from classical Mozart to contemporary pieces. Music can be heard drifting from cabins throughout the resort.
This year's leader is Bill Arimond, a clarinetist from Minneapolis.
Friday's concert will include a wide variety of music and is free to the public. A free will offering is accepted to offset the cost of music and other operating expenses. Bring a lawn chair to relax in during the concert.
Hoot Owl Resort is located 16 miles north of Park Rapids on Highway 71, then west on state highway 113 for 17 miles. Look for the sign on the north side of the road.
