CASSELTON, N.D. - Boomer is hitting the big time.
The dog's owner, Caryn Weber of Durbin, said Thursday that her phone "really hasn't stopped ringing" since her attempt to get her Landseer Newfoundland into the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's tallest dog was featured in Wednesday's Forum.
News outlets from as far away as Brisbane, Australia, have picked up the story of the 180-pound dog that stands 36 inches tall at the shoulders.
Weber, whose address is Durbin although she lives closer to Casselton, said she's even taken calls from a few national morning TV shows wanting to bring Boomer on.
"It's been a whirlwind," she said.

Weber took Boomer's official measurements Wednesday in Casselton. She planned to send the video, still photographs, signed witness statements and other documentation to Guinness today.
Weber said it will probably be four weeks or longer before she finds out if Boomer broke the record for tallest living dog.
