The Christopher David Hanson Band will play rock 'n roll, swing and soul at 2nd Street Stage at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3.

The band presents a soulful blend of timeless rock and roll, and all-original American roots music with hints of Motown, swing and classic country.

Formed in early 2013, the band hails from Babbitt on the Iron Range. The band has played with a host of national acts and also have been featured on the PBS television program "The Playlist."

Nashville recording artist Christopher David Hanson fronts this group of seasoned professional players. They have released three full-length albums and are at work on a fourth.

Social hour starts at 5 p.m. with $1 off on a beer and the evening's sponsor ready to meet and greet while you find your spot, listen to the sound check and greet neighbors and friends. Buy a button at the beer garden for $1 off a beer and double prize drawing tickets.

The Park Rapids Downtown Business Association sponsors 2nd Street Stage in partnership with local businesses. This activity is also made possible by the voters of Minnesota, through a grant from the Region 2 Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Celebrate summer Thursday evenings through Aug. 17 with free music, a beer garden and family activities in Downtown Park Rapids. Bring your own chairs.
