The Park Rapids Downtown Business Association invites you to celebrate summer at 2nd Street Stage events Thursday evenings from June 21 through Aug. 16.
2nd Street Stage will run from 6 to 8 p.m. with great music, a beer garden with snacks and other activities on 2nd Street between Main Avenue and Highway 71.
The line up begins with the following bands:
n June 21 - Circle of Heat - Circle of Heat is a Minneapolis-based band filled with talent. Made up of four graduates of the University of Minnesota School of Music, their shows have a heavy focus on musicality and improvisation. They are able to blend styles and put on a completely different show every time they play.
Everything from blues to classic rock and funk to jazz are fused into an original style with a familiar feel.

Circle of Heat uses instrumentation to create unique sounds, from the southern feel of a slide guitar to the occasional addition of an electric viola. With progressive rock drums underneath quirky and clean vocal harmonies, no song sounds the same. And with the release of their debut album right around the corner, Circle of Heat shows no signs of slowing down in 2012.
n June 28 - Good Noise - Hailing from Bemidji, this high energy five-piece band puts their own twist on classic favorites that span a range of musical styles: vocals and guitar, Eric Carlson; vocals and keys, Katie Houg; vocals, cello and saxophone, Brett Cease; drums, Mark Bauer and electric violin, Jordan Lindquist.
n July 5 - Tree Party -Tree Party tips their hats to the roots of country music, covering the likes of Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers, Gillian Welch, Webb Pierce and Willie Nelson.
Stemming from their small, humble hometowns (including Park Rapids) and evolving in the hub of Minneapolis, Tree Party makes those old songs feel young again.
Their first original album, self-titled and hot-iron branded, took on Western motifs and Midwest themes, while their following album evolved over a year collaborating with "The 7-Shot Symphony," an epic, live cowboy show.
Tree Party has all the basics for an old-time country band: Rockabilly upright bass, fiddling, four-party harmonies, and of course, a little bit of yodeling.
Band members are Joey Ford, Jenna Wyse, Travis Bolton and Andy Carroll. Tree Party will also play with "Switch" at the rodeo dances July 4 and 6.
The summer's first Sidewalk Sale will be held June 22 and 23 and mark your calendar for the 2nd Annual Bite of Park Rapids Friday, July 27 in conjunction with Crazy Days July 26 and 27. For more information on these and other events, go to www.parkrapidsdowntown.com .
