NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING HUBBARD COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT TRANSIT SALES & USE TAX AND 5-YEAR IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM Notice is hereby given that two public hearings will be held by the Hubbard County Board of Commissioners on June 6, 2022 and June 8, 2022, regarding the continuation of the Transit Sales & Use Tax for Roads in an amount of one half of one percent (0.5%), to be dedicated exclusively to address Hubbard County Road Projects, pursuant to Minn. Stat. §297A.99 & §297A.993, included in the County’s Proposed Five-Year Road Plan. The public hearings will both begin at 7:00 p.m. The hearings will be held in the Board Room (3rd Floor) of the Hubbard County Government Center in Park Rapids on Monday, June 6, 2022 and at the Lake George Town Hall in Lake George on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. These hearings will be held pursuant to the Minnesota Action Plan and for the purpose of involving other agencies and the public in the identification of selected highway projects, project programming and project development. Scheduling is coming together, and we are wrapping up our hiring for the 2022-2023 school year. We will be busy with MCA testing over the next couple weeks, and we are preparing for the last six weeks. Johnson – Band had a successful trip a couple weeks ago. We completed the registration process and will go through and complete the cleanup. We had ACT’s today and MCA’s tomorrow for our Juniors. We have the Mock car accident next week. We are getting ready for graduation and doing some planning. I’m taking a group of 6 staff to Sartell to see some of their flex space and their new building. HEARD Monthly Activities Director Report – We are busy but trying to get things moving. Our gyms are packed, and we are happy to get on the fields. We have some coaching openings that we are working on getting filed. HEARD Monthly Community Education Report – Preschool enrollment for next fall is full and we will be starting our wait list. We are working on the numbers for summer century adventures, and we will take the VPK kids who will be kindergartener’s next fall. We are looking at having a one-night event for our safety camp as a family event. April 27th is administrative professional’s luncheon. The summer brochure will go out May 4th. HEARD Director of Curriculum & Instruction report- We have many PRAVA students taking MCAs over the next couple weeks. I am meeting with parents/guardians for mid trimester. Our math team will report their findings and we will know how that has been going. We have an award-winning Author coming for a visit in the elementary school students as well as visiting a few of our high school classrooms. HEARD Monthly Facilities Director Report- Unfortunately Mother Nature is not cooperating. We have 2 full time spots left to fill and we are hoping to deliver boxes to the frank white staff this Friday.
