The Park Rapids Downtown Business Association invites all to celebrate summer at 2nd Street Stage Thursday evenings through Aug. 15.

The free concert Aug. 8 will start at 7 p.m. with the band, a beer garden and family activities on the second block of South Main. Bring your own chair.

Corey Medina & Brothers will be back at 2nd Street Stage on Water Wars night. Based in Minnesota, this blues-rock band is led by Medina from the Navajo Nation, where he was born and raised. He moved to northern Minnesota in 2012.

Through Incepticons Entertainment, Medina released his debut album, "Old Dog Crying," in May 2015, produced by Garlic Brown Beats. He now plays, writes and produces with the Incepticons team full time and also travels with his band known as "The Brothers.” Medina refers to the Brothers as a representation of the relationship he likes to keep with his fellow bandmates. They set out to spread light to dark and hope to the hopeless with their raw, soulful, intimate music and stage presence. They were nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2016 Native American Music Awards.

The beer garden will open at 6 p.m. for a social hour. Support the event by buying an official 2019 button and receive $2 off all beverages at the beer garden. To see the complete summer line up, go to www.parkrapidsdowntown.com.

This activity is also made possible, in part, by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Region 2 Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
