The Nemeth Art Center, in partnership with the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), will host a Youth Art Exhibit in Park Rapids.
The exhibit will be on display at the Nemeth Art Center from May 3 through May 26, with a reception and awards ceremony to be held on Saturday, May 19.
MCAD will award the top sophomore or junior participant a $3,400 scholarship for their pre-summer college session. The scholarship includes tuition, full room and board, supplies and three college credits for the summer session.
In addition to the MCAD scholarship, prizes will be awarded to the top three artists in the exhibit.
Applications are now being accepted from 15- to 18-year-olds residing in rural Minnesota communities of 20,000 people or less. Tribal and home-schooled individuals are also eligible to apply. The submission deadline is April 2 and there is no cost to participate.
The Nemeth Art Center is open Thursdays through Saturdays, May through September, and is located at 301 Court Ave., Park Rapids.
