A tractor fire south of Dorset sent Park Rapids firefighters scurrying because of the gale-force winds involved.

The three trucks that responded were trying to keep flames from spreading to the adjacent field in the wind,

The fire was reported just before 1:30 p.m. It was contained by 1:45.

Complicating the task was that the ARMER radio system, which is dispatched from the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Department in Park Rapids, was down.

Firefighters had to call each other on cell phones to respond.
