Susan "Sue" Carol Frank, 62, of Nevis, died Saturday, March 15, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at the Heritage Cottages in Park Rapids, after a 12-year battle with Alzheimer's.

Susan was born Aug. 22, 1951 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Harry D. and Anna C. (Emge) Stigsell. She lived in Mound, until 1956, when she moved with her family to Phoenix, Ariz. She graduated from Sunny Slope High School in 1969, and then she attended Glendale Community College.

She met Floyd Frank in 1975 while working at Sperry in Phoenix, Ariz. They moved to Dickinson, N.D. in 1976 and were united in marriage on Sept. 14, 1976. In 1978, they returned to Phoenix, Ariz. to be closer to Sue's parents. In 1980, the young couple moved to the Nevis area where they purchased Round Bay Resort on 3rd Crow Wing Lake. They raised their two children at the resort and the Frank family has continued to operate the resort since.

Sue enjoyed the water, nature, oil painting, antiques, making crafts and working in her flower gardens. She was known for her vibrant smile and contagious laughter. She was very friendly, loving and caring. She was very creative, loved working with her hands and was never afraid to tackle anything.

She is survived by her husband, Floyd Frank, Nevis; son, Mark (Jennifer) Frank of Nevis and grandchildren Madison and Brock; daughter, Crystal (Adam) Boettcher of Park Rapids and grandchildren, Ty, Cash, Jett; two brothers, Darroll (Gloria) Stigsell of Phoenix, Ariz., Thomas (Lynn) Stigsell of Cape Coral, Fla.; two sisters, Sandra Rice of Queen Creek, Ariz. and Marlene Stigsell of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Anna.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Friday, March 21, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids.

Visitation: 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Park Rapids. For the evening visitation Sue's family encourages people to dress in Round Bay casual attire. Visitation also one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church on Friday.

Sue's family has suggested memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Friends may leave online condolences at
