Wolf Lake to host 26th annual Harvest Festival

The 26th annual Wolf Lake Harvest Festival is scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 14-16. The festivities begin with the Miss Wolf Lake and Little Miss Pageant at 7 p.m. Friday at the Community Hall. A street dance will follow from 8:30 p.

The 26th annual Wolf Lake Harvest Festival is scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 14-16.

The festivities begin with the Miss Wolf Lake and Little Miss Pageant at 7 p.m. Friday at the Community Hall. A street dance will follow from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. with "Rita from the Heart" as the DJ. Lunch will be available all three days and a beer garden will be open.

Saturday's events will kick off with a 5K walk/run at 9 a.m. Collectors cars and tractor displays will be located behind Klondike Café beginning at 10 a.m. Kids games and face painting will be available at 10 a.m.

The fire department will have a fire prevention fun house at 11 a.m. and the Wolf Lake Lions will have a ham dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Community Hall.

Kids events continue with a coloring contest that must be entered by noon Saturday.

The harvest fest parade will take place at 2 p.m. and a donut-eating contest will follow. There will also be a dessert social following the parade at Klondike Café.

Other events include an unannounced "special event" and arm wrestling. Another street dance will conclude Saturday's festivities from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

A horseshoe tournament will kick off Sunday's activities at 8:30 a.m. and a softball tournament will take place beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Cash prizes are available to those who enter. The first prize is $750; the second is $400; third is $300; fourth is $200; and the fifth through eighth is $50 each. Prize drawings will begin at 3 p.m. at Waterfront Park. Additional attendance prizes will also be announced at that time.
