The Antique Tractor and Engine Club of Park Rapids is hosting its 18th annual Field Days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today (Saturday) and Sunday, Aug. 7-8 at the East 40 grounds south of Park Rapids on CSAH 6.
A collector button and a raffle ticket come with the paid admission.
Field Days begin each day with breakfast served from 7 to 10 a.m.
Other activities are a petting zoo, prizes given away every half hour, silent auction, crafts and flea market/swap meet. Skimp the Clown will be around the grounds both days to entertain kids with a 3 p.m. show Saturday.

Saturday's line-up of events includes a sawmill demonstration from 10 to 11 a.m., a parade around the grounds at noon, pull tractor weigh-ins from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., field demonstration of threshing at 11 a.m., lunch in the pavilion at noon, a tractor pull at 1 p.m., square dancing at the pavilion from 3 to 5 p.m., dinner at 5 p.m. and music from 7 to 9 p.m.
Sunday's activities begin with devotions in the chapel from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., gospel music at the pavilion from 11 a.m. to noon, lunch served starting at 11 a.m., a tractor parade at 1 p.m., youth pedal tractor pull at 2 p.m., raffle at 4 p.m. with a tractor pull that includes 12 categories of tractors classified by weight.
The first place prize for the raffle is a 1948 Farmall C tractor, second place prize is a Farmall pedal tractor for kids and third place prize is a hand made quilt.
Other events happening on the grounds both days include combining, threshing, tractor plowing, shingle making, blacksmith shop, snow fence making, and displays for tractors, vintage implements and stationary gas engines in operation.
"People movers" will take participants around the grounds both days.

National Farmers Market Week is Aug. 1-7. To celebrate, the Park Rapids Farmers Market on Main Avenue will host its sixth anniversary party with cake for customers and a door prize today (Saturday).
They will also be hosting a zucchini contest. The food categories will be breads, desserts and vegetable entrées.

There will also be a category for a decorated and/or carved zucchini. A category for youth 18 years and under will be for using a super sized zucchini.
Entry forms and rules can be picked up at the market, the Good Life Café or Third Street Market.
Author of "Conversations with Jon Hassler," Joseph Plut, will conduct a book signing from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. today (Saturday) at Book World on Main.
The book evolved from a friendship of nearly 40 years and a collection of interviews with the late novelist, with whom he taught at Brainerd Community College.
Hassler also taught at Park Rapids Area High School.
The Park Rapids High School Class of '70 will hold a reunion with a reception and dinner beginning at 5 p.m. today (Saturday) at Douglas Lodge in Itasca State Park.
A daily pass will be given to alumni who mention they are attending the Class of 1970 reunion event.

The Tri-County Senior Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol will host a pancake breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8 at the Walker Airport as a fundraising event.
The menu includes made from scratch buttermilk pancakes, sausage and juice.
A free will donation will be received with breakfast free for pilots of fly-in aircraft.
The airport is located on Highway 371 north of Walker.
Several aircraft are expected to fly in (last year, a Homeland Security Blackhawk helicopter arrived). There will be static displays of local, state and federal equipment.
A Change of Command ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9. Captain Jim Harris, Akeley, will relinquish and Lt. Col. Jim Williamson of Bemidji will assume command.
The Heartland Wheelers and May Creek Senior Living Campus invite the public to attend the second annual May Creek Classic Car Show at Sunday, Aug. 8 at the campus in Walker.

Sign-in begins at noon, with the show at 2 p.m. Live entertainment and an ice cream social will take place during the show.

A benefit showing of "Cats and Dogs, the revenge of Kitty Galore" will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8 at Park Theater.
The theater will donate 100 percent of net ticket sales to the Headwaters Animal Shelter.
"Cats & Dogs" is a movie about the age-old battle between cats and dogs. Kitty Galore stars as a former cat spy that tries to take over the world.
History, Heritage and Heroes, the summer event series at the ITOW (In Their Own Words) Veterans Museum in Perham, continues at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8 with a presentation by Dr. Terry Shoptaugh about the 164th National Guard Unit during World War II.
