Park Rapids Lions Kim Donahou, Dick Kimball and Larry and Zelda Novak recently attended the District 5m9 2020 mid-winter convention in Brainerd. Over 200 Lions from the district attended.

The Novaks are co-chairs of 5m9, along with past district Governor Tom Plagman.

Highlights of the convention were speakers on the Minnesota Eye Bank and the importance of eye donations to the Minnesota Eye Bank, where the entire eye is used for research as well as for cornea transplants. There is no cost to the recipient for the transplant. People can specify their desire to donate to the eye bank on their drivers’ licenses and directives.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Lions may contact Zelda Novak at 732-9295 or check out the Park Rapids Lions web page.
