Park Rapids Library to host ‘Making Comics’ with Jason Walz

The author and illustrator of comic books and graphic novels will share his experience and give participants pointers on drawing apocalyptic creatures on June 10 via Zoom.

Grab your sketchbook and join graphic novel author and illustrator Jason Walz as he talks about making comics.

The virtual event is at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 10 on Zoom, part of the Kitchigami Regional Library System’s summer reading program.

Walz will guide participants step by step as they learn how to draw dystopian monsters and share their creations with the group. Author of the “Last Pick” trilogy, he will share his experience and answer questions about creating and publishing graphic novels and comics.

Recommended for ages 10 and older, this free Legacy program is funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
