Sanford Health welcomes Kelly Pruett, FNP-C, to the orthopedics team
Sanford Health of Northern Minnesota welcomes Kelly Pruett, FNP-C, to the orthopedics team at the Sanford Bemidji Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center.
Kelly attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX, for his bachelor’s in biology and Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, IN, for his bachelor’s degree in nursing. Continuing his education, he earned his master’s in exercise science from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR, and his master’s degree in family nurse practitioner at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR. He is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Kelly worked in exercise medicine with University of Arkansas Women’s Athletic Department, Walton Fitness Center in Bentonville, AR, and With the Texas Rangers Baseball Club in Arlington, TX. He then proceeded to work in several RN roles with the San Juan Regional Medical Center, the Phoenix Indian Medical Center, the Washington Regional Medical Center and the Baxter Regional Medical Center.
Before joining the Sanford orthopedics team, Kelly was a family nurse practitioner for the better part of a decade working at the Mercy Health System, the Shoulder Center of Arkansas and UAMS Health, Orthopedic and Sports Medicine.
Kelly is available for referral specializing in the diagnosis and treatment orthopedic injuries, including osteoarthritis and joint injections.
“Having an open dialogue with my patients is essential,” shared Kelly. “I keep my patients well informed not only about their condition, but also of all treatment options available to them so we can work together to best meet their care needs.”
In addition to his passions for exercise medicine and fitness, Kelly values spending quality time with his wife and two kids on the lake. He also enjoys hunting, fishing and watching sporting events, especially hockey, whenever he gets a chance.
