Laporte's 4th on the 7th, a small town with a big Independence Day celebration, will be held Saturday, July 7.
The events schedule includes an all-day flea market. The Laporte School Spanish Club will serve root beer floats beginning at 11 a.m. and the firemen's open house pig roast begins at 11 a.m.
Registration for the soapbox derby will be underway at 11:30 a.m. with children's derby races heading off the line at 1 p.m.
The kids' parade will march at 3 p.m. with prizes awarded, $50 the grand prize. Line-up begins at 2:30 p.m. at the Baptist Church parking lot.
The grand parade will head down the boulevard at 4 p.m. with line-up in the school parking lot.

Children's games begin at 6 p.m. and bingo will be played at the fire hall at 7 p.m.
When the sun sets, fireworks will fly.
