July 4th (and 3rd) lake celebrations
Two Inlets: A boat parade will set sail at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3 (to accommodate resort guests). Meet at the boat landing. Call Glen Wolters at 699-3244 for more information.
Ham Lake: Lake residents will hold the annual get-together at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 4 at the Zippel family home, 18669 East Ham Lake Drive.
Long Lake: The annual July 4 flotilla will begin at 10 a.m. There will be both north and south routes. Meet 9:50 a.m. in front of New Frontier Resort on the west side of Long Lake to participate. If there is inclement weather (high winds, rain, thunderstorms) at 9 a.m. that day, the event will be cancelled.
Little Sand Lake: A celebration of Independence Day will set sail from Zorbaz at 10 a.m.
Emma, Stocking, Bottle lakes: Residents are encouraged to decorate boats and load them with fuel for the grand 4th of July parade beginning at 10:30 a.m. Meet at Schneeman’s Bay, the southeast by on Lower Bottle Lake.
Island Lake North: A noon potluck will be held Saturday, July 4 at the old Kimosomi Resort (12157 Island Lake Dr.). Bring a dish to share, plate, silverware and chair. Friends and family welcome. Call 732-3770 or 732-0559 with questions.
Lake BelleTaine: A boat parade will begin at 10 a.m. July 4, setting sail near the Nevis public access and proceeding west to the mouth of West Bay. Decorate your boat, large or small, and join in the fun. Hospitality at Avaunne and Doug Hed’s following the parade.
Big Sand Lake: Independence Day will be celebrated with an 11 a.m. boat parade. Meet at northeast corner of the lake near the inlet from Lake Emma. From 3-6 p.m. a “Generations” social for all ages will be held at Williamson beach (24033 Hubbard Dr. on west side of main lake). Celebrate the Fourth with Big Sand friends and families for fun and games. Ice cream, soft drinks, beer, wine and snacks will be provided.
8th, 9th, 10th Crow Wings: Has canceled its parade this year because resorts are too busy changing over cabins and guests, which is done on Saturday. However, past parades have started at 1 p.m. at In-We-Go Resort, and owner Sara Becker said it would be wonderful if lake residents want to parade on their own.
