Give to the Max Day helps area non-profits, schools

Early giving is already underway for Minnesota’s annual giving event.

Thursday, Nov. 14 is Give to the Max Day, a 24-hour online fundraiser for thousands of nonprofits and schools will take place at GiveMN.org.

Give to the Max Day was created in 2009 to launch GiveMN, a collaborative venture led by the Minnesota Community Foundation and other organizations committed to making the state a better place. According to GiveMN, that initial spark touched off an outpouring of generosity – $14 million in 24 hours. Since then, Give to the Max Day has become an annual tradition.

With every gift made on GiveMN.org, your designated nonprofit or school is entered in a drawing for part of a $100,000-plus prize pool. A $500 “Golden Ticket” is awarded every 15 minutes on Nov. 14, as well as daily $500 prizes for early giving, $1,000 tickets every hour on Nov. 14 and a $10,000 grand prize drawn from all gifts of $5 or more, including early giving. GiveMN has given away more than $2 million in prize grants since 2009.

Interested donors can visit GiveMN.org to find a cause and learn more. Charitable donations are made with a debit or credit card. The minimum donation is $10. There is no maximum.
