More than 750 meals were served at the Park Rapids American Legion’s annual Christmas dinner.
Of those around 250 meals were taken out, said organizer Lynn Spilman.
Favorable weather contributed to the large turnout.
Last week the Legion presented a check for $3,060 to the local Salvation Army, accepted by coordinator Lori Longworth.
“It was better than last year,” Spilman said of the turnout. “We had 648 pieces of pie. We ran out.”

Longworth and Spilman praised the volunteers who made the dinner a special event for guests.
Longworth also praised bell ringers as the local Red Kettle campaign over the Christmas holiday raised $20,000.
She said the volunteers are invaluable to the annual campaigns.
