The Pregnancy Resource Center of the Park Rapids Area held a “Read for Life” fundraiser in February.
The program’s 15 young readers found sponsors to donate money for each book they read. In all, they brought in about $1,270 for the PRC.
Also, in February and March, the Pregnancy Resource Center had a “Birdhouses of Live” fundraiser, in which businesses and individuals decorated 27 raw birdhouses made from wood donated by Fay Burrel and assembled by Debbie and Mike Yennie and their grandchildren.
The birdhouses were auctioned off online, bringing in a little over $2,000. Feedback indicated that people enjoyed the auction, so the PRC plans to do it again.
The Pregnancy Resource Center exists to help young moms and dads who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy situation. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, it is funded completely by donations. Michael Johnk is executive director, and Kylee Payne is its client services director.
