The Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce remains open for business during the coronavirus/COVID-19 situation.
“We’re not closing the Chamber,” President/CEO Butch De La Hunt said in a March 16 release. “We are open for business and moving to a ‘work distancing’ model.”
However, he added, “We need to take appropriate steps to keep our staff and community safe.”
Effective Tuesday, De La Hunt said, the Chamber is implementing hygiene/social distancing protocols, including the following:
No non-essential walk-in traffic allowed at Chamber offices.
No non-essential meetings by guest organizations in the conference room.
Limiting non-essential delivery services as far as possible.
Using telecommuting, Zoom, Virtual Meeting and work-from-home practices.
Limiting events hosted or attended by Chamber staff to 25 people.
Restricting non-essential Chamber and personal travel into high risk areas.
Postponing Morning Buzz and Lunch-n-Learn events, resort visits and the resort summit until further notice.
Meanwhile, the Chamber’s information center and rest area will remain stocked and open, De La Hunt said.
