Eddie Kramer’s 24 points paced the Nevis boys basketball team in a 78-34 Northland Conference victory at Laporte on Friday, Dec. 17.

JohnPaul Benson (16) and Devan Lindow (9) combined for 25 points while Cain Mitchell (9), Spencer Lindow (8) and Ian Ahrendt (6) combined for 23 rebounds. Ty Warrington had seven assists and three steals, Joe Houchin had four assists and two steals, Kramer had three assists, and Ahrendt had four steals for the Tigers, who led 40-23 at the half.

The Tigers improved to 6-0 on the season in their conference opener while Laporte fell to 0-4 in conference games and 0-6 overall.

“This was a bit of a trap game for us coming off of our big win over Pequot Lakes. Even though we were able to win with a lopsided score, we had a pretty poor first half, especially defensively where we didn’t defend the ball very well and actually got into a bit of foul trouble. We also rushed a lot of shots on the offensive end, which just made the play sloppy. We did score 40 points in the first half, but we were capable of playing much better,” said Nevis head coach Scott Kramer. “With that being said, our post players were able to get a number of clean looks. We were also able to get a lot of reserves into the game in the second half.”
