BY Sarah smith email@example.com Three fire departments rushed south of Itasca State Park Saturday morning to control a grass fire that broke out west of State Highway 71 north of Park Rapids. Park Rapids Fire, the DNR and Lake George firefighters brought in the heavy artillery, containing the fore in an hour.
BY Sarah smith firstname.lastname@example.org Fire struck a house just south of Park Rapids Thursday night, causing extensive damage to the structure. The home, at the intersection of County Road 6 (Henrietta Avenue) and County Road 15, burned around 10 p.m. Thursday. Park Rapids firefighters, under regular procedures, called for mutual aid from the Menahga Fire Department, but canceled that department’s help when it looked like the Park Rapids firefighters had it under control. The cause is still under investigation.

Equity Exchange Partners, owned by Mike and Mox Gunderson of Detroit Lakes, purchased the facility off Highway 34 as of March 31. Avinity Senior Living of Minneapolis will manage the facility, tucked in the woods behind Up North Storage, which Niemeyers still own.
