Residents of Lake Eunice got some bad news late last week, when the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources made the official announcement that their lake was the third in Becker County to be infested with zebra mussels. On June 22, a citizen provided DNR aquatic invasive species (AIS) staff in Fergus Falls with a photo of what he thought was a zebra mussel, attached to a freshwater clam that he had collected on the southeast side of Lake Eunice.
MANDAN, N.D. – A Mandan High School teacher accused of having sex with a student was suspended without pay Monday in a closed meeting of the school board. Special education teacher Amanda Kolosky, 35, was arrested in May after admitting to police that she had inappropriate physical contact with a high school student, according to an affidavit.

On July 4, 2015 at approximately 4:15 PM, the Beltrami County deputies responded to a 911 call of a female who was found unresponsive in the water on Cass Lake. Deputies learned that the victim, identified as Brenda Lois Larson, age 50 of Eden Prairie, MN, had been riding in a 17 foot Boston Whaler being driven by Matthew Allen Kinghorn, age 45 of Minnetonka, MN. More than three and a half years after her disappearance, Idaho law enforcement officials have discovered items belonging to a missing Ardoch, N.D. woman and no foul play is suspected in her disappearance. A prosthetic knee and a vehicle belonging to Florence Dumontet, who went missing in Oct. 2011, were discovered last week in Shoshone County, Idaho, the Grand Forks County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.
