The missing person, Waymon Sullivan, reported on Monday has been found in good health. He was located Wednesday, March 15 in Brooklyn Center and will be reunited with his family soon. One suspect has been arrested with formal felony charges being sent to the Wadena County Attorney’s Office. No further information is available as this investigation is ongoing by the Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Carr would like to thank the public for any assistance during this investigation.
Monday morning’s dense fog likely contributed to a collision involving a semi and car at about 8 a.m. at Highway 64 and CSAH 33, resulting in no serious injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. No one required transport to health care facilities.

Park Rapids resident Paul Utke announced his candidacy for Minnesota Senate District 2. The district includes all or part of eight counties - Hubbard, Wadena, Becker, Otter Tail, Mahnomen, Clearwater, Beltrami and Lake of the Woods. Senate District 2 is one of 67 Senate districts in Minnesota; each has about 79,500 residents. All seats in the Minnesota Legislature (both House and Senate) are up for election in November.
Townships will hold annual meetings Tuesday, March 8. The annual meeting is a gathering of the town residents, not the town board. Town board members may vote as residents, make motions and provide information, but the supervisors cannot legally take actions as the town board. The yearly confab is what sets townships apart from other forms of government, according to the Minnesota Association of Townships.

Authorities have released the name of the snowmobiler who died after an accident on Big Rush Lake near Ponsford Wednesday night. Carl Sunram, 57, of Ponsford was pronounced dead at the scene. The Becker County Sheriff’s Department, as well as several other agencies, responded to a call of a snowmobiler overdue to return northwest of Ponsford. Following a search of the area, authorities found Sunram’s body on Bush Lake. “It appears that for some reason, he lost control of his snowmobile,” said Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander.
