By John George email@example.com After a slow start, "Charlie's Angels", the Perham gymnastics team led by head coach Charlie Fleck, roared past the competition for their fifth straight Class A State Championship Friday afternoon in St. Paul's Roy Wilkins Auditorium. The Yellowjackets scored a 148.750, nearly four points ahead of second place New Prague (145.0). After the first rotation, the Jackets probably would have thought you were crazy if you told them they'd finish with a score of over 148.
By John George firstname.lastname@example.org The Yellowjackets final home match of the season proved to be anti-climactic. Park Rapids had four forfeits and the Jackets picked up three first period pins and a pair of tech falls in a 58-13 win Thursday night at Prairie Wind Gymnasium. Senior heavyweight Jordan Palubicki returned from lingering back problems to pin Park Rapids' Kyle Blanchard in :49 seconds, to take team honors with the quickest win. Isaac Werner pined Adam Branstrom in just :51 seconds at 112 pounds. Thursday, January 31 Perham 58, Park Rapids 13 103--Andrew Gorentz (P) def.

By John George sports@eot Everyone into the Minnesota sports scene know's who Crunch is. He's the high-flying mascot for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Although he's known for his on-court antics, he's a quite, humble, even shy wolf when he's off the court. After making his fourth appearance in Perham last Friday to cheer on the Yellowjacket boys basketball team in their win over Pelican Rapids, Crunch finally decided to sit down with me and "let his hair down" in this exclusive interview. Where did you grow up? Where does your pack hail from?
