The legal jostling didn't let up much -- nor did the acrimony between families -- Friday at the Robert Briard trial. Becker County Sheriff Tim Gordon says he is pleased with law enforcement efforts at WE Fest this year. He estimated that more than 60,000 people attended the country music festival each day of the three-day event. "On our end, from a law enforcement point of view, I'd call it a success," he said. Working all night Wednesday and on into Thursday, BNSF railway workers and private contractors swarmed over the site of a freight train derailment near Lake Park, removing or cutting up damaged cars and shipping containers and laying new track. The derailment Wednesday afternoon involved 10 large intermodal railroad cars carrying 40 or more metal shipping containers. The railcars that ended up as a jumbled mess about a mile west of Lake Park were No. 13 through No.
Eight to 10 cars of a westbound BNSF freight train carrying hazardous materials derailed on the west side of Lake Park shortly before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said. Becker County Sheriff Tim Gordon told KFGO Radio in Fargo that several dozen people were evacuated from some rural homes downwind of the site as a precaution. Some of the cars contained batteries, ammonium nitrate, sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, he said. Gordon told a reporter for DL Newspapers that it wasn't immediately clear if anything was leaking.

Andersen is accused of shooting Swedberg twice -- in the shoulder and hip areas -- with a high-powered rifle fired from a distance.
