By Crystal Dey / Bemidji Pioneer BEMIDJI -- A Bemidji woman plead guilty to arson in Beltrami County Court Monday. Mary June Klasen, 57, confessed to starting her mobile home on fire in an attempt to evict her son on April 30. She was arrested for felony first-degree arson. Klasen stated in court Monday she has been trying to move her son out of the trailer for five years.

By Crystal Dey / Bemidji Pioneer CASS LAKE, Minn. -- Aerial water tankers and helicopters aided ground crews in dousing a 60-acre wildfire south of Cass Lake on Wednesday afternoon. The fire was reported about 1:30 p.m., witnesses said. The fire was originally reported as two fires that may have merged across the street from Cass Lake Bena High School. Witnesses said schools were evacuated.
