WILLISTON, N.D. – Drug trafficking in the Bakken is highlighted in the National Drug Control Strategy released Wednesday by the White House drug czar. The 102-page document includes several mentions of North Dakota and Montana, including about a page dedicated to the need for agencies to collaborate in response to a “burgeoning threat” in the Bakken.

The Sandpiper is an oil pipeline proposed by Enbridge Inc. to stretch 616 miles from near Tioga in western North Dakota to a terminal in Superior, Wis.
WILLISTON, N.D. - A 35-year-old Oregon man died after a firework struck him in the face early Saturday morning, according to the Williams County Sheriff’s Office. Det. Caleb Fry said detectives were called between midnight and 1 a.m. and found Michael Cottrell deceased. “I believe one of the parties attempted CPR,” Fry said.
