A traffic stop east of Moorhead Wednesday revealed about 9 pounds of meth with a street value of about $400,000 hidden in the seats of a car, Clay County Attorney Brian Melton said. The driver of the car and his passenger each face three felony drug charges carrying up to 30 years in prison, Melton said. Nestor Orlando Camarena and his uncle, Pablo Camarena-Aguilar, were stopped by a trooper on Interstate 94 at about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday near Highway 336, according to Melton and Minnesota State Patrol Lt. Brandon Bibich.
A University of North Dakota police officer was involved in a shooting in the parking lot of Grand Forks' Altru Hospital early Saturday morning after a vehicle pursuit. By Marie Johnson A Perham man suffered small cuts to his face, and his father is in jail, following a shooting incident in rural Perham on Wednesday. The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office has reported that Jeffrey Schultes, 53, of rural Perham, fired a .22 caliber rifle at his son, Jesse Schultes, 24, of Perham, as Jesse tried to drive away from the scene. A bullet struck Jesse’s window, shattering it and causing glass fragments to land on his face, resulting in small abrasions.
The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a drive-by shooting Monday afternoon about 8 miles southwest of Bagley. At approximately 3:20 p.m. Monday, the sheriff’s office received a call of a possible drive-by shooting at mobile home on the 11000 block of Ebro Drive. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found that the home had been shot numerous times with what appears to be a small caliber firearm, a release from the sheriff’s office said.
