GLYNDON, Minn. - Glyndon Police Chief Mike Cline isn’t complaining about the late-night phone call from his officer, who was working a traffic safety enforcement overtime shift when he pulled over a man allegedly driving a van with 88 pounds of marijuana stuffed inside a safe in there. “This is not ditch weed; this is really good nug,” said Cline at a news conference in Glyndon, standing in front of a table piled high with the marijuana, vacuum-sealed into one to one-and-a-quarter pound packages.

Mahnomen County authorities have identified the victim of what they are calling a suspicious death Monday. A construction worker has died after an accident at the Minnesota Vikings stadium. A statement from John Wood, senior vice president from Mortenson Construction, said one worker from Berwald Roofing has died and another is in serious condition after the accident about 7:45 a.m. on the U.S. Bank Stadium construction site. They were working on the north side of the building. All work on the project has been stopped.
ZIMMERMAN, Minn. -- A Zimmerman man has admitted his guilt to a 2014 case of illegally taking multiple deer in the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge east of St. Cloud. The case started last November when Minnesota DNR Conservation Officer Mitch Sladek of Big Lake observed a woman and her daughter bypass a locked gate and enter the refuge pulling a two-wheel deer cart. “I asked them who shot a deer,” said Sladek. “The woman said her husband, Michael Walz, had shot the deer and they were going to help him bring it out with the cart.”
