34-year-old female inmate has been flown to a Duluth-area hospital after she was found to be unresponsive and then revived at the Beltrami County Jail early Tuesday. At approximately 2:37 a.m., Beltrami County correctional staff were notified of a medical emergency regarding an inmate within the facility, according to a release from the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office. It was dark as Ann Lilleoien drove home Tuesday night from Devils Lake when she thought she saw a deer in the ditch. "I was going 65, but I slowed to 55," she said. "When I got closer, I could see it was a cougar." As she drove along Ramsey County Road 8 about four miles west of Lawton, the animal bounded from the ditch onto the road. "It was running right next to my pickup, and it was going faster than me," she said.
Jason Duane Lampl, 24, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony second-degree burglary. According to court records, in June of 2014 he burglarized a cabin on South Dinner Lake Loop, Park Rapids. The well pump and tank were removed from inside the cabin, and he also took 10 sheets of drywall, a quantity of lumber, and some tools and household items. He was charged after DNA on a cigarette butt left at the site was traced to him via a state database.
