A 34-year-old Akeley man died and another man is in a Twin Cities hospital after an apparent carbon monoxide poisoning Sunday in an ice fishing house on Leech Lake. The Cass County Sheriff's Office identified the man who died as Jared Nels Johnson, 34, of Akeley.
