By Bryce Haugen At a special meeting Monday, Sebeka City Council members unanimously accepted the retirement of the town’s police chief, who was recently cited for driving while intoxicated, and appointed a part-time officer as interim chief. Eric Swenson, 48, had been a Sebeka police officer for 28 years and the chief since 2007. In a one-sentence letter to the council dated March 9, he ended that tenure.

PAUL – Prosecutors say a Woodbury man wearing a fake badge pulled out a handgun and shot an acquaintance at nearly point-blank range Friday at a St. Paul sports bar. Patrick Timothy Juetten, 30, was charged Monday in Ramsey County with one count of second-degree attempted murder after allegedly leaving a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. The gunshot victim, identified in a criminal complaint as T.J.G., told police that Juetten, a high school classmate, had called him up and later met him at Tom Reid’s Bar. T.J.G.

FARGO – A teenager who was found Feb. 18 unconscious in the Fargo South High School swimming pool has died. Frederic Ndereimana, 19, died Saturday at a Fargo hospital, according to police. Until now, the teen’s name and condition were unknown. Fargo Schools did not previously release the info, and police said the matter was under investigation. School district spokesperson AnnMarie Campbell said that Nderimana was found unconscious in the school pool at about 11 a.m. Feb.
