Wadena County Sheriff Michael D. Carr announced this week he will seek a third term as Wadena County sheriff. Carr, who was first elected as sheriff in 2006, has been in law enforcement for 20 years. He was re-elected in 2010. The sheriff started his career with the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office in 1994, and then worked with the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office in 1995.

FARGO – Former Beatle and rock legend Sir Paul McCartney will perform July 12 at the Fargodome, officials announced Monday morning. Fargodome General Manager Rob Sobolik said the venue had been trying for years to land McCartney and got close a few times in the past. But this time, the venue was able to secure the musician for an 8 p.m. concert on July 12. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources placed burning restrictions over the central part of the state beginning April 14 because fire danger is expected to rapidly increase as winds pick up and snow continues to melt.
