Those interested in learning more about a statewide regulation proposal for northern pike fishing can attend informational meetings that will detail a zone concept to address different pike management objectives in north-central, northeast and southern Minnesota. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will discuss creating three pike fishing zones that could solve unique challenges with pike in each zone and improve northern pike fishing statewide. The zone proposal would address pike management objectives that differ depending on region as follows:

The names of the two men involved in the fatal motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon on County Highway 4 in Otter Tail County have been released. David Marvel, 58, of Detroit Lakes died at the scene and 59 Mark Kneip, 59, of Glyndon, suffered life threatening injuries. Tara Kimberly Lindquist, 42, of 110 E. Main Street in Dalton, is charged with one misdemeanor count of Theft.
On Friday, August 7th, 2015 at approximately 5:30PM the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for assistance from the Red Lake Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation who were engaged in a pursuit with a reported armed suspect following an assault that took place on the Red Lake Reservation. The pursuit entered Beltrami County and Beltrami County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Minnesota State Troopers assisted in the apprehension of the suspect.
