By Malachi Peterson An influx of panhandlers, sometimes with cardboard signs pleading for help, are becoming more frequent at busy streets and intersections in Bemidji. Police Chief Mike Mastin said the department tends to receive more calls about panhandlers during the Fourth of July week because of their increased visibility with extra visitors to town.
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – A woman found dead in a Wyoming gravel pit in 1983 has been identified as Mary Lynn Anderson, a Frazee native who family members reported missing in 1986.
FARGO – Cass County prosecutors have filed two felony charges against a former jail nurse who allegedly sexually assaulted an inmate under her care and smuggled a cellphone and other contraband into the facility for him. The charges against Claire Francine Schwehr, 46, of Dilworth, shed more light on the investigation into the Fargo-Cass Public Health employee, who sheriff’s department officials say was a contract worker at the jail for six years.
