BEMIDJI -- An inmate in the Beltrami County Jail assaulted two corrections officers this morning. Nakayland James Yost, 20, of Laporte inflicted minor injuries on Corrections Sgt. Robert Exner and officer Anthony Olson at approximately 9:06 a.m., according to a release from the Beltrami County. Exner was transported to Sanford Emergency Room where he was treated and released for his injuries.

DEVILS LAKE, N.D. - The home of a Devils Lake man killed in a traffic accident Sunday night near Buxton, N.D., may have been burglarized over the weekend. Jeffrey Gegelman was at home Sunday in Golden Valley when three young men “began to beat on the door, and entered his residence and started shooting,” Mercer County Sheriff’s Department Detective James Wenning said in an affidavit released Wednesday. Brett Knudson, 20, of Golden Valley, was charged Tuesday with attempted murder and criminal trespassing.
