GREENBUSH, Minn. - A former business manager for the Greenbush Middle River School District had been paying herself and other staff too much overtime and falsifying records to cover it up, according to the Roseau County Sheriff’s Department. Arlys Strandberg, 59, was charged early last month with two counts of misconduct of a public officer or employee.
DEER CREEK, Minn. – The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who robbed a convenience store Monday night. Wearing a black ski mask, the man came into the Deer Creek Express store about 9:30 p.m., walked behind the counter and demanded cash from the clerk, according to the sheriff’s office. The man, who did not show a weapon or make any threats, left the store at 320 E. Main Ave. with an undisclosed amount of cash, the sheriff’s office said. The robber was described as a white man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Wadena County Sheriff Michael D. Carr announced this week he will seek a third term as Wadena County sheriff. Carr, who was first elected as sheriff in 2006, has been in law enforcement for 20 years. He was re-elected in 2010. The sheriff started his career with the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office in 1994, and then worked with the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office in 1995.

FARGO – Former Beatle and rock legend Sir Paul McCartney will perform July 12 at the Fargodome, officials announced Monday morning. Fargodome General Manager Rob Sobolik said the venue had been trying for years to land McCartney and got close a few times in the past. But this time, the venue was able to secure the musician for an 8 p.m. concert on July 12. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
