FARGO -- Feeling stressed? Well, if you live in Minnesota and North Dakota not so much. A study by a personal finance website reported Tuesday, April 3, that Minnesota is the least stressed state in the nation with North Dakota right behind them. In fact, if you live in the Upper Midwest your chances of being fairly stress-free are darn good.
FARGO – Meteorologists are monitoring the possibility of winter weather hitting the region later this week and into early next week. The National Weather Service in Grand Forks said there are many unknowns at this point, but forecasts indicate light snow and freezing rain starting north of Highway 200 that runs across central North Dakota on Friday, March 2, and lasting through Saturday.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D.-- A 60-year-old Pipestone, Minn., man has been sentenced to more than 17 years in federal prison after a sting operation where he thought he was going to have sexual contact with a 10-year-old and 13-year-old girl at a Sioux Falls, S.D., hotel. Roger Blaisdell was sentenced in federal court on Monday, Feb. 26, in Sioux Falls on the charge of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual contact.

An adult male was declared deceased at Bill's Gun Shop & Range at roughly 2 p.m. Wednesday, the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Officers and first responders converged on the indoor shooting range, situated on Excelsior Road near the intersection of Highway 371, upon reports of a gunshot wound on the premises.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Officials with the South Dakota Departments of Transportation and Public Safety are closing Interstate 29 from the Tea just south of Sioux Falls to the Iowa border. Numerous jackknifed and stuck vehicles, heavy snow and strong winds are making travel through the corridor impossible. “No travel” advisories are also posted for much of the entire southeast part of South Dakota and parts of southwest Minnesota.
SPICER, Minn. — Despite the recent long stretch of below-zero weather in Minnesota in recent weeks, ice fishermen have been going through the ice on central Minnesota lakes in the past few days. Three incidents were reported on Friday, Jan. 19. Two ice fishermen from Spicer in east-central Minnesota were able to safely climb out of a pickup truck that plunged into water Friday evening offshore on Green Lake in Spicer.
FARGO -- Classic rockers Def Leppard and Journey announced Friday, Jan. 19, that they are teaming up for a North American tour that in this region will take them to Sioux Falls, Minneapolis and Fargo. The two will perform together in 58 cities on the tour starting May 21 on the east coast. The regional concerts are at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls on Wednesday, July 18, at Target Field in Minneapolis on Friday, July 27, and at the Fargodome in Fargo the next day.
BEMIDJI, Minn. -- A 75-year-old Park Rapids man has died and three teenagers were injured in a crash on an icy, snow-covered state Highway 71 about 16 miles south of Bemidji. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2002 Subaru Legacy driven by Elise Sikes, 18, of Hudson, Wis., was driving south on U.S. Highway 71 Thursday morning about 9:50 a.m when it lost control and collided with a 1999 Volkswagen Beetle heading north driven by the 75-year-old man.
REDBY, Minn. --- The FBI has issued a fugitive alert looking for Derek Jon Paddy, who is believed to have fled Red Lake Indian Reservation in northwest Minnesota after an armed robbery and shooting. The 21-year-old is considered armed and dangerous. According to a warrant, Paddy was involved in an armed robbery on the reservation on Thanksgiving Day and then was reported as a shooter in an incident on Thursday, Nov. 30.
