Powwow regalia is often made by a family member and includes symbols that are meaningful to the dancer. Teresita Diaz' shawl was made by her mom, Neegonee Brunner. The Puerto Rican sun in the middle is surrounded by two Native American Thunderbirds that represent strength and power. The hummingbird represents healing.
