Century fourth graders teamed up with second graders to create some jolly jack o' lanterns, but not before preparing them for duty - pulling out the innards, Emily Olson, a fourth grader, a study in concentration. Their creations were to accompany the second graders home Friday.

Join the early childhood staff in Park Rapids on a Halloween parade at Heritage Living Center from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23. Kids up to age 5 can show off their costumes - whether it's a bumble bee or a more spooky-looking costume - while entertaining the elderly residents of Heritage. Everyone is also invited to stay until the end for songs, stories and surprises. There is no fee for the event, but pre-registration is required by calling 237-6600. (Enterprise 2008 photo)

Carters Red Wagon Farm will host weekly pumpkin parties from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Saturday, Sept. 26 through Halloween. A maze, treasure hunt, wagon rides, a pumpkin propeller and a giant pumpkin boat will be on hand to entertain visitors of all ages. (Enterprise photo)
